All USCIS Field Offices and ASC offices are temporarily closed until at least April 1, 2020. If you have an interview or biometrics appointment scheduled in this timeframe, you will receive a notification in the mail with a new appointment. All Naturalization ceremonies are also cancelled. If you were scheduled for an Oath Ceremony between March 18 and April 1, you will receive a notification with a new appointment.

USCIS is still processing applications. If you have an application with a pending deadline, you still need to abide by that deadline. USCIS has waived the requirement that for original signatures. This means that a document may be scanned, faxed, photocopied, or similarly reproduced provided that the copy must be of an original document containing an original handwritten signature. Applicants and attorneys should retain the original page with the “wet ink” just in case.

The Department of State is temporarily suspending routine visa services at all U.S. Embassies and Consulates. Embassies and consulates will cancel all routine immigrant and nonimmigrant visa appointments as of the time being. As resources allow, embassies and consulates will continue to provide urgent and emergency visa services. For country specific information, please got to


All ICE check-ins will take place via phone. ICE is asking individuals to report via phone between 9am-12 pm on Wednesdays by calling (423) 553-1716 (Chattanooga). As individuals report, an officer will register their call and give them a new date for check-in.


The Memphis Immigration Court is closed until at least April 10, 2020. The Court is working to contact individuals with upcoming court dates. New notifications will be mailed out. Nationwide, only detained cases are moving forward.
